Sberbank and Kamchatka Partner to Drive Regional Growth and Innovation
Sberbank and the government of Kamchatka Territory have signed a cooperation agreement at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The deal aims to boost the region’s growth by aligning business and government efforts in key areas like education, urban development, and investment attraction. The agreement was formally signed by Herman Gref, President and Chairman of Sberbank, and Vladimir Solodov, Governor of Kamchatka Territory. Both sides highlighted the partnership’s focus on driving strategic development across the Russian Far East.
One of the main goals is to train highly skilled digital engineers in the region. A major step in this direction will be the launch of School 21, an educational initiative designed to build local expertise in technology and innovation. The partnership also places strong emphasis on urban revitalisation. Comprehensive development plans will target major settlements, making them more livable for residents, attractive to investors, and appealing to tourists. Improving infrastructure and public spaces forms a central part of this strategy. Beyond education and city planning, the collaboration seeks to kickstart new projects that enhance quality of life. By combining government resources with Sberbank’s expertise, the initiative aims to create long-term economic and social benefits for Kamchatka Territory.
The agreement sets out clear priorities for Kamchatka’s future, from launching School 21 to transforming urban areas. These efforts are expected to attract investment, improve local infrastructure, and create opportunities for residents across the region.
