Sarens Builds $56M Logistics Hub to Speed Up China-Europe Trade

Sarens is planning a major logistics and commercial hub near the Kazakhstan-China border. The project aims to boost freight handling and support growing trade between China and Europe. The company has operated in Kazakhstan for two decades and sees strong potential in the region. The hub will span 82 hectares and include warehouses, offices, retail spaces, accommodation, and truck services. It will also support freight operators with infrastructure for large cargo, such as wind turbine blades and components. The first phase, costing $10 million, should start operating by the end of 2023. Most facilities will be fully functional by the end of 2027.

Sarens has seen the benefits of improved transport links in Kazakhstan. Last year, it moved 165 wind turbine sets through the Khorgos crossing for three major wind farm projects. To ease congestion, the company also plans a new border crossing between China and Kazakhstan. Truck queues at the current crossing can last for days during busy periods. The $56 million investment reflects the rising demand for efficient freight routes. The hub will help manage large shipments and reduce delays at the border. Its completion is expected to strengthen trade connections between Asia and Europe.
