RZD Explain Suspension of Ticket Sales for Southern Trains in September

Russian Railways halts ticket sales for key southern routes in September

Russian Railways (RZD) has paused ticket sales for some long-distance trains departing from southern Russia in September. The move affects routes from Black Sea coast resorts and the Caucasian Mineral Waters region. Passengers have already noticed missing options for certain departures in the online system. The suspension follows planned maintenance on railway infrastructure. Services from September 8 will see adjusted schedules and routes as a result. RZD confirmed that sales will restart once the updated timetable is ready.

Earlier this summer, the company added 149 pairs of trains to serve popular destinations. These included 65 pairs to Adler, 43 pairs to Anapa, and 24 pairs to Novorossiysk. Travellers can now enable alerts in the RZD Passenger app to get updates on ticket availability. The railway operator has apologised for the disruption. Passengers are advised to check the app for notifications and wait for the revised timetable. The changes aim to ensure smooth operations during the maintenance period.
