A 32-year-old woman from Amursk is facing fraud charges after allegedly stealing goods worth 77,000 rubles (around $850). The case centres on her role as an employee at a local marketplace pickup point, where she is accused of misusing her position for personal gain.

Between January and August last year, the woman reportedly placed orders for items using her personal account. Instead of processing them as customer purchases, she kept the goods without paying. The total value of the stolen merchandise reached 77,000 rubles.

The investigation has now concluded, and the criminal case has been sent to the Amursk City Court. Prosecutors have charged her under Part 1 of Article 159 of the Russian Criminal Code, which covers fraud.

The trial will determine whether the woman is guilty of defrauding the marketplace. If convicted, she could face penalties under Russian law for the theft of goods over an eight-month period. The case highlights how internal controls at pickup points can be exploited by employees.
