Russian firm faces legal action over Amur Basin environmental violations

The Amur Basin Environmental Prosecutor’s Office has launched legal proceedings against Stroymontazh DV LLC. The company is accused of failing to protect aquatic life and misusing the protective shoreline zone of a waterbody. The violations occurred at an extraction site in the Levy Uly River valley. Inspectors found multiple breaches at the site operated by Stroymontazh DV LLC. Tractors and other vehicles were parked outside approved zones. Fuel and lubricants were stored without proper covers or pallets, risking contamination. Waste was also improperly handled and stored on-site.

The company responded by taking corrective measures. It created a dedicated parking area for machinery and relocated fuel and lubricants to a secure warehouse. New waste management facilities were installed to address the issues. Additionally, one employee faced disciplinary action for their role in the violations. Stroymontazh DV LLC has now complied with environmental regulations by improving its site operations. The company still faces penalties for the initial violations. Authorities continue to monitor the situation to ensure full adherence to the law.
