Russia's new crab-fishing vessels set sail in the Sea of Okhotsk
TRK LLC, a company based in the Free Port of Vladivostok, has completed two new crab-fishing vessels. Named Natalie Bay and Dmitry Konoplyov, they are now operating in the Sea of Okhotsk. The project marks a major investment in Russia’s fishing industry. TRK was founded in 2019 and is jointly owned by Antei Asset Management LLC (50%) and Aquilon LLC (49%). The company secured 5.9 billion rubles in funding from the Far East Development Corporation (FEDC) to build the vessels.
The ships were designed using the Damen CSA 5712LS model and meet Ice2 ice-class standards. Each can hold and transport up to 90 tons of live crab in specialised seawater tanks. By 2025, TRK reported revenues of 3.5 billion rubles, reflecting the project’s early success. The two vessels are now actively fishing in the Sea of Okhotsk. Their advanced design and storage capacity aim to boost efficiency in crab harvesting. The investment also supports the growth of Vladivostok’s maritime sector.
