Russia's job market booms with 23 million offers in three months
Experts from hh.ru, Russia's leading online recruitment platform, have analyzed the labor market to determine how actively employers sought new employees in the first quarter of 2026. Their findings reveal that over three months, companies extended more than 23 million job invitations to candidates.
Maria Ignatova, head of research at hh.ru, noted that the most in-demand age group in the job market today is 19 to 40 years old. Women aged 19–30 received 5.3 million job offers, while those in the 31–40 bracket were sent 4 million. Men in the same age categories received 3.4 million invitations each.
In terms of professional fields, the highest number of job offers went to the following sectors: "Sales and Customer Service" (385,900), "Retail" (127,400), "Transport and Logistics" (127,000), "Manual and Industrial Labor" (123,200), and "Domestic and Service Staff" (114,600).
Among men, the majority of invitations were concentrated in "Agriculture" (93% of offers in the sector), "Automotive Business" (90%), and "Security" (85%). Women, meanwhile, most frequently received offers in "HR and Training" (90%), as well as "Healthcare and Pharmaceuticals" and "Finance and Accounting" (each at 84%).
In the Southern Federal District, the highest number of job invitations in Q1 2026 went to candidates from Krasnodar Krai (49%, or 930,600 offers), Rostov Oblast (37%, or 703,500), and Volgograd Oblast (11%, or 206,900). The fewest invitations were extended to residents of Astrakhan Oblast (3%, or 49,000) and the Republic of Adygea (1%, or 17,000).
Employers showed the greatest interest in 14–18-year-old applicants in Rostov Oblast (3,700 offers) and Krasnodar Krai (3,500). In the 19–30 age group, the most invitations went to candidates in Krasnodar Krai (321,700), Rostov Oblast (250,900), and Volgograd Oblast (16,000).
