Russia's Armavir–Kurganninsk road undergoes massive 13.7 km overhaul by 2027
A major repair project is underway on the Armavir–Kurganninsk road in Russia's Novokubansk District. The work covers a 13.7-kilometre stretch and aims to fix long-standing issues with the route's condition. Before repairs began, nearly 80 kilometres of the road were classified as damaged or in poor shape.
The project started in October 2025 under the national Infrastructure for Life programme. Crews are resurfacing the road, reinforcing its shoulders, and upgrading the carriageway. These improvements will address wear and structural weaknesses.
To boost safety, thermoplastic road markings will be applied across the entire section. These markings are designed to stay highly visible at night. The full scope of repairs is set to finish by the end of 2027.
Once completed, the upgraded road will replace a heavily degraded section that had been in poor condition for years. The work will improve travel for drivers and extend the road's lifespan. Officials have not yet announced further phases of the project.
