Russia's April 2026 fuel prices reveal regional cost shifts and trends

Fuel prices in Russia saw slight changes in April 2026, with some regions maintaining their positions at the top of the rankings. The latest data reveals shifts in both gasoline and diesel costs across key areas, including Sakhalin, Yakutia, and Kamchatka. The Magadan Region kept its spot as the most expensive place for gasoline, with prices remaining the highest in the country. Kamchatka Territory followed closely, holding the second-highest gasoline prices. Sakhalin stayed in third place, unchanged from previous months.

For diesel fuel, Kamchatka Territory led with the highest costs. Sakhalin Region took the second position, while Yakutia dropped to third after previously ranking higher. Despite this shift, Yakutia still remained in the top five for diesel prices. In terms of specific figures, Yakutia recorded an average gasoline price of 78.77 rubles per litre in April. Nationally, the consumer price index for gasoline edged up to 100.6% compared to March, indicating a slight month-on-month increase.

The rankings show that remote regions continue to face the highest fuel costs in Russia. While some areas like Sakhalin and Magadan held steady, Yakutia experienced a slight decline in diesel pricing. The overall trend points to a minor rise in gasoline expenses across the country.
