Russia's 13.3 Billion Ruble Boost Accelerates Children's Hospital Construction in Far East

The construction of the Children’s Hospital Complex in Komsomolsk-on-Amur has received a major financial boost. Over 4 billion rubles were allocated from the federal budget earlier this year to support the project. The Khabarovsk Krai Legislative Duma also approved regional budget adjustments to further fund the development. The Krai Ministry of Construction received 9.9 billion rubles after the budget changes. A significant portion of these funds will go towards completing the hospital complex. In May, Tiazhpromexport Foreign Economic Association (JSC) was chosen as the contractor for the project, with a contract value set at 7.3 billion rubles.

The first phase of construction includes a children’s outpatient clinic. This facility will cover over 11,400 square meters and accommodate 500 patients per shift. The second phase will add a medical treatment building and a paediatric consultation centre, spanning more than 33,100 square meters.

The contract outlines penalties for the customer if obligations are not met. Each breach will incur a compensation of 5,000 rubles. The contractor is required to finish the work in stages by the end of 2029. The project is now under way with clear funding and deadlines in place. The hospital complex will expand healthcare services for children in the region. Completion is expected by the close of 2029, with penalties ensuring accountability for delays.
