Russia–China border crossing shuts for three days in June
Russia’s Pokrovka–Jiaohe border crossing will close for three days during the Russia Day holiday. The shutdown affects travellers between Khabarovsk Krai and China from mid-June. Authorities have issued a warning about the temporary changes in advance.
The State Construction Agency announced adjustments to the crossing’s usual schedule. Operations will halt completely from June 12 to June 14. This period coincides with the extended celebrations for Russia Day.
The mixed checkpoint, used by both vehicles and pedestrians, will remain shut throughout the holiday. No alternative routes have been proposed for the closure. Travellers planning to cross during these dates must adjust their plans accordingly. The closure aligns with national festivities but disrupts regular cross-border movement. Those affected should check for updates before attempting to travel. Normal service is expected to resume after June 14.
