Redwire (RDW) Stock Surges 13% on Major Defense and Space Contract Wins

Redwire's stock soars 13% after landing major NATO drone deal

Redwire has seen a sharp rise in its share price, climbing over 13% across three trading days. The surge follows a series of major defence contracts, including a multi-year deal for drone systems with a NATO ally. Investors have taken notice, pushing trading volumes to more than double the usual levels.

The company secured a high eight-figure contract to supply Penguin Mk3 drone systems to an unnamed NATO partner. This deal adds to Redwire’s growing portfolio of defence agreements, which now includes a $15 million U.S. Army contract for Stalker surveillance drones. Over the past eight months, the Army contracts alone have totalled $24.8 million.

Beyond drones, Redwire was named the lead contractor for DARPA’s *Otter* spaceplane project. Voyager Technologies will serve as a subcontractor on the initiative, further expanding Redwire’s role in advanced aerospace programmes. On Friday, trading activity surged, with 55.4 million shares changing hands—far above the typical 26 million. The stock’s 52-week range spans from $4.87 to $22.25, though recent gains have lifted it toward the upper end. Analysts now project revenues of $887.3 million by 2028, while some valuation models suggest a fair share price of $13.28, roughly 24% below current levels. The company’s market capitalisation stands at $3.5 billion as of Friday’s close.

Redwire’s recent contracts and stock performance highlight its expanding presence in defence and aerospace markets. With multiple high-value deals in place, the company’s revenue outlook has strengthened. Shares continue to trade above some analysts’ estimated fair value, reflecting investor confidence in its growth trajectory.
