PZeG hires ex-Volkswagen manager to drive corporate expansion and digital shift
PremiumZulasser eG (PZeG) is reshaping its team to grow its corporate client business. The cooperative, which supports around 6,000 dealerships, has brought in Nico Aßmann as a new project manager on its executive board. His role will focus on strategic planning, corporate account management, and key milestones for the company's expansion.
Aßmann joins PZeG after years at Volkswagen Automobile Leipzig GmbH, where he handled large-scale vehicle registrations. His experience includes working with PZeG's own digital registration tool, PZeG.online, which he has called ideal for managing high-volume processes. The move marks a logical step in his career, aligning with the company's push for broader stock market reach.
PZeG's current model relies on 60 member firms to bring in corporate clients. However, industry trends now favour providers offering nationwide coverage and greater stock market influence. The cooperative's restructuring reflects this shift, with the board expecting higher demand for outsourced registration services—especially for standardised procedures.
Despite the digital potential of PZeG.online, adoption remains low. Less than 5% of the 6,000 supported dealers use the AI-powered system independently. Most still outsource registrations to member firms, and nearly 90% of all processes arrive at licensing offices in paper form. Dealers highlight the tool's efficiency for bulk registrations and its flexibility in handling both digital and physical submissions. Yet, the reliance on analog methods persists.
The appointment of Aßmann and the internal restructuring signal PZeG's response to changing stock market today. With fewer dealers using PZeG.online directly, the cooperative aims to strengthen its outsourced services and nationwide presence. The focus now lies on scaling operations to meet growing demand for streamlined registration solutions.
