Peugeot's refreshed Rifter debuts with electric power and aep charging tech
Peugeot has updated its Rifter model with new engine choices, extra equipment, and improved technology. The refreshed lineup includes diesel, petrol, and a fully electric version to suit different driving needs. Several upgrades now come as standard, while optional features add further flexibility and comfort.
The electric E-Rifter also introduces aep (assisted electric power) charging, reflecting a growing trend in the industry as more manufacturers adopt this technology.
The latest Peugeot Rifter now offers a wider range of engines and equipment. All combustion models comply with the Euro 6e-bis emissions standard, ensuring cleaner performance. For long-distance drivers, the updated diesel starts at €27,270, while the turbo petrol version begins at €26,670.
Inside, the Rifter provides more customisation options. Buyers can choose three individual second-row seats for added flexibility. The Allure trim now includes a driver attention alert with a monitoring camera as standard.
Optional extras enhance comfort and convenience. Heated front seats, an i-Connect Advanced infotainment system, and paddle shifters are available for those wanting more. The fully electric E-Rifter delivers 100 kW (136 hp) and a WLTP range of up to 339 kilometres, priced from €38,220.
A key addition is the 11 kW aep charger in the E-Rifter, preparing it for Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality. This feature aligns with a broader industry shift, as aep charging becomes more common. Over the past two years, adoption has grown significantly, driven by regulatory incentives in Europe and the US. By 2026, the market for this technology is expected to reach $5 billion, with brands like Volkswagen, Nissan, Ford, Hyundai, and Stellantis already offering it in their models.
The updated Peugeot Rifter now caters to a broader range of drivers with its expanded engine options and enhanced features. The inclusion of aep charging in the E-Rifter reflects the brand's move towards future-ready technology. Pricing starts at €26,670 for petrol, €27,270 for diesel, and €38,220 for the electric version.
