Othfresen bus routes rerouted for safety after accident warnings
Bus routes in Othfresen are set to change permanently from April 8 due to safety concerns. The adjustment follows repeated warnings about accident risks along Feldberg Straße. Three local services will now take a longer path to avoid the troubled stretch.
The decision affects lines 851, 852, and 860, which currently travel via Feldberg Straße. From April 8, these buses will instead use Hasenbeeksweg and Bahnhofstraße when departing from the 'Othfresen, School' stop. The change comes after transport officials identified the original route as a high-risk area for collisions.
Passengers should expect minor delays as the new path adds extra distance. The updated timetables will reflect these adjustments, with the revised routes remaining in place for at least the next year. Authorities have stressed that the move prioritises safety for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians alike.
The route changes will take effect immediately after the Easter break. Buses will follow the new path until further notice, with no fixed end date yet announced. Officials have urged travellers to check updated schedules before planning their journeys.
