Orbital Sets Sights on US Market with Miami Expansion for Cross-Border Payments
Orbital, a global payment orchestration platform, has announced plans to expand into the US market. The company will base its operations in Miami, Florida, to strengthen its connectivity with American counterparties and payment flows. The move aims to meet growing demand for regulated, enterprise-grade payment infrastructure linking the US with international markets. Miami was chosen for its role as a hub for cross-border payments, digital asset businesses, and companies serving Latin America.
Orbital currently processes around $12 billion in annualised volume across traditional currencies, stablecoins, and over 80 exotic currencies. Its platform already holds key compliance credentials, including SOC 2 Type 2, ISO 27001:2022, CSA Trusted Cloud Provider status, and Cyber Essentials Plus.
The company’s initial US focus will target B2B payment providers, PSPs, cross-border remittance businesses, and firms in the crypto and digital asset sector. It will also pursue US regulatory approvals and money transmission licences as part of a phased market entry.
The GENIUS Act has further accelerated activity in stablecoin infrastructure by creating a federal framework for US payment stablecoins. Orbital expects to lay the groundwork for its US presence within the next 12 to 18 months while continuing to expand its global payment coverage. Orbital’s US expansion will provide deeper access to onshore USD settlement infrastructure. The company’s existing compliance credentials and broad currency support position it to serve international clients with US-linked payment needs. The phased approach ensures alignment with regulatory requirements.
