Omsk's new Magnit distribution hub to create 1,200 jobs and boost economy
A major logistics project is set to transform Omsk’s Leninsky District. Plans for a new distribution centre by the Magnit retail chain were discussed at a recent meeting. The initiative promises economic benefits and job creation for the region. Over 3.2 billion rubles have already been allocated for the construction of the Magnit distribution centre in Armeysky. The total investment for the project now exceeds 3.3 billion rubles. A phased connection plan for the site’s grid connection has received approval.
The investor must now complete the on-site network infrastructure. Grid connection remains the only outstanding issue before work can proceed. Once operational, the hub will optimise regional supply chains, cut delivery times and boost partnerships between Magnit and local producers.
The projects outlined at the meeting are expected to generate more than 1,200 new jobs. They will also provide an additional tax revenue stream for budgets at all levels of government. The distribution centre will support local economic growth through job creation and tax contributions. It will also enhance efficiency in the region’s logistics network. The project marks a significant step for both Magnit and Omsk’s business community.
