North Rhine-Westphalia will hold its next statewide warning day on Thursday, March 12, 2026. The test will check sirens, mobile alerts, and other emergency systems at 11:00 AM. Authorities have confirmed there will be no actual danger during the drill.

The warning day will activate multiple alert channels simultaneously. Sirens across the state—including those in Grevenbroich's urban area—will sound at 11:00 AM. The NINA warning app, Cell Broadcast messages, and local radio broadcasts will also send test notifications.

An all-clear signal is scheduled for around 11:15 AM. Emergency services remind residents that 112 will stay operational for real crises. However, they ask the public not to call authorities or control centres with feedback about the test.

Residents can find more details on the warning day at warnung.nrw (in German). Information on siren signals is available at our website under Living in Grevenbroich → Fire Department & Emergency Information → Siren Alerts / Siren Signals.

North Rhine-Westphalia is not alone in testing its systems. Bavaria and Rhineland-Palatinate will also conduct warning drills on the same day, March 12, 2026.

The exercise aims to ensure all alert systems function correctly. No public action is required beyond acknowledging the test signals. Officials have stressed that the drill poses no risk to residents.
