Nordex stock soars 215% in a year—can the wind turbine giant sustain its rally?

Nordex shares have surged in recent weeks, reaching near their 52-week high on Wednesday. The wind turbine manufacturer has also gained recognition for sustainability, securing a place in the Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations 2026 ranking. Meanwhile, analysts remain split on whether the stock's rapid rise in the stock market will continue.

The company's share price has climbed nearly 14% since January and over 215% in the past year. This strong performance has pushed its market capitalisation to roughly €7.98 billion, positioning Nordex among Germany's larger industrial firms. However, the stock's annualised volatility stands at 65.47%, reflecting sharp price swings.

On the technical side, the relative strength index (RSI) now sits at 32, hinting at a possible pause after the recent rally. Despite this, Nordex continues to make headlines in its sector. Its N175/6.X turbine won a silver medal in the Turbines of the Year 2025 awards for onshore models with a capacity above 7.0 MW.

The company also signed a framework deal with VERBUND Green Power, potentially supplying turbines with up to 700 MW of capacity. Sustainability efforts have further boosted its profile, with Corporate Knights ranking Nordex 25th in its Global 100 list at the 2026 Davos forum. The assessment covered multiple sustainability criteria, reinforcing the firm's environmental credentials.

Yet, analyst views remain mixed. Some recommend buying the stock, while others rate it as underperforming, reflecting uncertainty about its next move.

Nordex's share price has seen dramatic growth, but its high volatility and cooling RSI suggest caution. The company's recent deals and sustainability accolades highlight its industry position. Investors now watch whether the upward momentum will hold or stabilise in the coming months.
