Nizhny Novgorod launches major road repairs under national project
Road repairs are underway in Nizhny Novgorod as part of Russia’s Infrastructure for Life national project. This year, the scheme will cover over 16 kilometres of roads across the city. Several key routes will see closures and upgrades in the coming weeks.
Work on Malaya Pokrovskaya Street begins on June 1. A full traffic closure will take effect near building No. 10 from 8:00 AM, with a detour provided for motorists. The same stretch, close to the Central Post Office, will also undergo a major overhaul of its heating networks.
On June 29, repairs will start on Zvezdinka Street. The project includes resurfacing the road, replacing manhole covers and curbs, and repainting road markings. Other locations set for renovation this year are Ryabtseva Street, Kazan Highway, and the Myzinsky Overpass.
The national project will bring significant changes to Nizhny Novgorod’s road network. Drivers should expect delays and altered routes as repairs progress across multiple streets. The city aims to complete all scheduled upgrades by the end of the year.
