Nizhny Novgorod completes first phase of Borsky Bridge road repairs
Authorities in Nizhny Novgorod have finished the first stage of road repairs near the Borsky Bridge. The work targeted deep ruts on the approach from Akimov Street. Fresh asphalt has already been laid on a key section of the route. The initial phase focused on the 6th to 8th kilometre stretch leading to the bridge. Crews used a milling technique to remove damaged layers before applying new asphalt across four lanes. This method helps extend the road’s lifespan and improves its durability.
Most milling operations took place at night to reduce disruption for drivers. The current repair project is set to finish by the end of June. After June 12, further work will begin on the bridge itself and its surrounding approaches. The resurfaced section is now open to traffic. Additional repairs will start shortly to address remaining issues. The upgrades aim to provide smoother and safer travel for motorists in the area.
