A new cross-border train service between Sweden and Norway will launch in early summer 2026. The route, operated by Snälltåget, will connect Malmö to Oslo with stops along the way. Passengers can also look forward to a seasonal leisure service linking Stockholm, Malmö, Copenhagen, and Hamburg starting on 4 May 2026.

The daily Oslo-bound train will depart from Malmö Central at 6:38 am and arrive at Oslo Central Station at 1:13 pm. Along the way, it will stop in Lund, Helsingborg, Halmstad, Varberg, Trollhättan, Sarpsborg, and Fredrikstad. The journey will feature scenic coastal maps and an on-board restaurant car called Krogen, offering bespoke menus tailored to each route.

From 4 May 2026, another service will run between Stockholm, Malmö, Copenhagen, and Hamburg. This seasonal route will include stops in Odense, Kolding, Padborg, Neumünster, and Hamburg. Passengers can reserve a table in the restaurant car via the My Journey app.

Snälltåget primarily serves the leisure market, with services adjusting based on seasonal demand. The company has not announced further European destinations beyond the Malmö–Hamburg route for the May 2026 launch.

The new train links will provide direct travel options between key Scandinavian and German cities. Daily services to Copenhagen, Hamburg, and Berlin will begin in May 2026, alongside the Malmö–Oslo route. Passengers can expect dining options and scenic maps as part of the journey.
