New 40-meter bridge in Shkotovo opens for trial operation
A new 40-metre bridge on Leninskaya Street in Shkotovo, Primorsky Krai, has opened for trial operation. The structure replaces an old, outdated crossing and aims to improve transport links in the area. Authorities are now conducting final inspections before full use begins. The previous bridge in Shkotovo had become structurally and functionally obsolete. Its replacement, built by VSK-1, uses reinforced concrete for durability. Modern safety features include guardrails, barriers, and clear road markings.
Meanwhile, in Khorol Urban District, a temporary bridge is being constructed near Sivakovka. The old crossing there collapsed, leaving around 1,000 villagers without access to their only road. Work on the new structure is underway to restore vital connections.
The Shkotovo bridge will remain in trial mode until inspections are complete. Once fully operational, it will provide a safer and more reliable route for residents and transport. In Sivakovka, the temporary bridge aims to restore access as soon as possible.
