Naurod Apple Blossom Festival Causes Detours from May 9 to 13

While Munich has Oktoberfest, Naurod has its Apple Blossom Festival—and those looking to join the celebrations would do well to take the bus. A word of caution, though: several ESWE Verkehr routes will be rerouted.

Road closures, one-way traffic regulations, and bus diversions will remain in effect through Monday. Due to the blocked route through the village center, buses will be unable to follow their usual paths or serve all stops during the Naurod Apple Blossom Festival from May 8 to 11. Lines 16, 20, 21, 22, 34, and N10 will be affected on different days, with the following detours and rules in place.

Line 16

From Friday, May 8, at approximately 2:00 PM through Monday, May 11, at around 12:00 PM, Line 16 will follow this detour: Buses heading toward Naurod will not enter the village directly from the Feldbergblick stop in the Erbsenacker settlement. Instead, they will continue along the B455 toward Niedernhausen, turn left toward Naurod, and proceed to the Fondetter Straße A stop in the direction of Wiesbaden. This stop will serve as both a drop-off and pickup point. Buses traveling toward Wiesbaden will use their regular route.

Lines 21 and N10

From Saturday, May 9, at approximately 9:00 AM through Monday, May 11, Lines 21 and N10 will follow these detours:

  • Toward Medenbach: Buses will travel the usual route to the Bernsteinstraße stop, then continue straight to Fondetter Straße, followed by a stop at Schillerstraße. From there, they will proceed via the B455 toward Bremthal, stopping at the temporary Tannenring stop on Bremthaler Weg. After the temporary Am Weinberg stop, buses will turn onto Im Hopfengarten and return to the regular route.
  • Toward Wiesbaden: Lines 21 and N10 will follow the standard route to Alt Auringen stop, then turn onto Bremthaler Weg, stopping at the temporary Am Weinberg stop before continuing to the temporary Tannenring stop. They will then take the B455 to Naurod, stopping at Schillerstraße and Fondetter Straße before resuming the regular route. The Am Weinberg stop on Alt Auringen will not be served in either direction due to the detours.

Detours During the Apple Blossom Festival Parade

On Sunday, May 10, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, the following rules will apply during the parade:

  • Line 21 will be unable to pass through Naurod, meaning many stops in the area will not be served. Buses toward Medenbach will follow the regular route to Bernsteinstraße, then make a loop via the ARAL gas station to the temporary Bernsteinstraße stop (city center direction). From there, they will continue along the B455 toward Bremthal, following the detour described above. Buses toward Wiesbaden will take the detour in reverse order.
  • Line 22 will be rerouted from Niedernhausen toward Naurod starting at the Wilhelm-Kempf-Haus stop, taking the B455 toward Wiesbaden before exiting at Naurod/Kellerskopf. Buses will then proceed to Bernsteinstraße, make a loop via the ARAL gas station to the temporary Bernsteinstraße stop, and continue as usual. The reverse detour applies for buses heading toward Niedernhausen.
