Nashik's industrial roads crumble as manufacturers demand urgent repairs

Industrial roads across Nashik district are in urgent need of repair, according to a recent memorandum submitted by the Nashik Industries and Manufacturers Association (NIMA). The group has called for immediate action to fix crumbling infrastructure that has disrupted goods transport for years.

NIMA highlighted the poor state of key routes in Shinde-Palse, Sinnar Industrial Area, and Brahmanwade Industrial Area. These roads, vital for moving industrial goods, have deteriorated over time, creating delays and safety risks. The association stressed that no major renovations or expansions have taken place in the last five years under the Nashik Metropolitan Region Development Authority (NMRDA) or other agencies.

During a meeting, NIMA office-bearers pushed for a joint inspection of all affected roads. They demanded quick repairs and resurfacing where needed, along with long-term plans for widening and reinforcing high-traffic routes. To tackle monsoon challenges, the group also proposed upgrades to drainage systems, clearer road markings, and better signage for safety. In response, NMRDA Commissioner Jalaj Sharma assured that roads in all industrial estates would be strengthened and upgraded. NIMA pledged full cooperation for inspections and further discussions to speed up improvements.

The meeting ended with commitments from both sides to address the long-standing road issues. Joint inspections are expected to begin soon, focusing on immediate repairs and future upgrades. If carried out, these changes could ease transport problems for industries in Nashik district.
