Jogeshwari Terminus To Get Direct Metro Access Via Skywalk, Integrating Rail With Metro Lines 6 And 7A

Mumbai's Jogeshwari to Get a Major Transport Hub by 2027

Jogeshwari in Mumbai is set to become a major transport hub with a new coaching terminus. The project will integrate long-distance trains, suburban rail, and Metro services for smoother travel. Work is already underway on the first phase of the development. The first phase includes three platforms, with space reserved for two additional ones later. Western Railway is also constructing two six-metre-wide foot overbridges, complete with escalators and lifts to improve accessibility for passengers.

A dedicated pedestrian network will provide direct access to Mumbai Metro services from the terminus. A skywalk is planned to link Jogeshwari Terminus with Ram Mandir railway station, which will further connect to Goregaon Metro station. Metro Line 6 runs near the terminus, while Metro Line 7A will be accessible via interchange facilities in the Jogeshwari-Ram Mandir area.

The first phase of the project is expected to be completed by 2027. Once finished, it will allow seamless movement between long-distance trains, suburban rail, and the Metro network. The new terminus will transform Jogeshwari into a key interchange for Mumbai’s transport system. Passengers will benefit from easier transfers between different modes of travel. The development aims to reduce congestion and improve connectivity across the city.
