Moscow announces major traffic closures for utility upgrades this week

Traffic disruptions and temporary road closures are expected in parts of Moscow on the morning of Tuesday, April 21, the city's Department of Transportation has announced. The restrictions may affect the southwest, west, and central districts.

Residents and visitors have been advised to use the metro instead and, where possible, postpone trips to the affected areas until another day. Motorists are also urged to plan their routes in advance, use navigation apps, and allow extra travel time.

Separately, traffic restrictions along Mikhnevskaya Street will remain in place until April 16 of next year due to ongoing construction work for new metro infrastructure. Parking is also temporarily banned on a section of Mikhnevskaya Street between buildings No. 15 and No. 17.

Additionally, from April 20 to December 29, parts of Beregovoy and Novofilyovsky Proezds will be partially closed, with one lane blocked in each direction. The measures are tied to utility and engineering system construction.
