Moonrise Launches Instant Payments in Norway via NICS Real
Moonrise by Lunar has launched Instant Payments in Norway, marking a significant step for real-time transactions in the region. The move simplifies access to Norway's real-time clearing system, which has traditionally been difficult for fintechs and payment providers to navigate. With this update, the company strengthens its role as a key banking partner for businesses expanding across the Nordics.
The new service allows partners to send and receive Norwegian Krone (NOK) instantly through NICS Real, Norway's real-time clearing infrastructure. By offering local virtual accounts (vBBANs), Moonrise enables fintechs and payment providers to deliver a fully domestic instant payment experience in the country.
Historically, accessing Norway's real-time clearing via a single API has been complex and often out of reach for many providers. Moonrise's solution changes this by providing a unified, API-first entry point to all three Nordic instant payment systems—Denmark, Sweden, and Norway—through one integration.
The platform is designed for electronic money institutions (EMIs), payment service providers (PSPs), and banks aiming to grow in the Nordic market. This latest launch reinforces Moonrise's position as the leading banking partner for companies scaling payment operations in the region.
The expansion into Norway means Moonrise now supports real-time payments across the three major Nordic markets. Businesses using the platform can process transactions more efficiently, reducing complexity in cross-border payments. The company's unified API approach sets it apart as the only provider offering such seamless integration for the region.
