Mikun launches tender for urgent 480-metre water pipe replacement
A tender has opened for replacing a 480-metre stretch of worn-out water pipes in Mikun. The project, valued at 1.85 million rubles, will use horizontal directional drilling to lay new mains. Companies now have until June 15 to submit their bids. The local authorities announced the tender to address the ageing pipeline infrastructure. Bidding documents must reach the commission by June 15, with the selection process scheduled for July 3.
The winning contractor will have a tight deadline. Excavation must begin on August 1, 2026, and the entire project must finish within 60 calendar days. This puts the completion date in early October 2026.
The work involves replacing 480 metres of pipeline using modern drilling techniques. This method minimises disruption compared to traditional open-cut trenching. The project aims to improve water supply reliability in Mikun. Once completed, the new mains will replace the deteriorating section currently in use. The contractor will have just two months to finish the job after breaking ground.
