Micron's revenue soars 111% as dividend jumps and cash flow surges

Micron Technology Inc has reported a sharp rise in financial performance for its fiscal second quarter. The company's revenue surged by 111.6% from the previous quarter, reaching $28.86 billion. Alongside this growth, management announced a significant dividend increase and provided strong guidance for the next quarter.

The chipmaker's free cash flow (FCF) saw a dramatic improvement in Q2, with adjusted FCF climbing 76.6% quarter-over-quarter. The adjusted FCF margin also edged up from 28.6% to 28.9% of revenue. This financial strength allowed the company to raise its quarterly dividend per share by 30%, taking it to 15 cents, or an annual rate of $0.60.

Revenue for the six months ending August 31 jumped 123% to $37.6 billion. Analysts now project that Micron's FCF could grow from $27.6 billion to an average of $38.5 billion over the next 12 months. Despite the dividend hike, the payout ratio remains low at just 2.4% of adjusted FCF. Looking ahead, management expects next quarter's revenue to hit $33.5 billion, give or take $750 million. This forecast represents a 40% increase over the fiscal Q2 figure. The strong financial outlook has also lifted the stock's valuation, with an average price target now set at $566.64—34% higher than its current level.

Micron's latest results show a substantial rise in revenue and free cash flow, supporting a major dividend increase. With analysts forecasting further growth in FCF and a strong revenue outlook, the company's stock valuation has climbed. The financial improvements position Micron for continued expansion in the coming months.
