Mexico City launches direct Metrobús route from airport to sports venues

Mexico City’s Metrobús is introducing a new direct service to connect the airport with a major sports venue. The route will link Mexico City International Airport to Palacio de los Deportes, offering a convenient option for travellers. A connecting Trolebús Ride service will also be available for those heading to Estadio Ciudad de México. The special Metrobús route will start at Terminal 1 of AICM, then stop at Terminal 2 before proceeding directly to Palacio de los Deportes. There will be no intermediate stops along the way. Buses are expected to run approximately every 15 minutes.

The fare for the Metrobús service will be 30 pesos, matching the price of the existing Quetzalcóatl Route. Passengers can pay using the Integrated Mobility Card (MI), credit or debit cards, smartphones, or NFC-enabled smartwatches. Meanwhile, the Trolebús Ride service to Estadio Ciudad de México will cost 350 pesos.

Buses will display special signage at boarding and alighting points to help passengers identify them easily. Trained staff will be on hand to provide assistance. City authorities advise travellers to purchase the MI card at AICM terminals and load at least 380 pesos to cover both services. The new Metrobús route offers a straightforward link from the airport to Palacio de los Deportes. Passengers can then transfer to the Trolebús Ride service for access to Estadio Ciudad de México. The combined services aim to simplify travel for visitors and locals alike.
