Manner Debuts Its First Fully Electric Truck for Greener Factory Logistics

Austrian confectionery maker Manner has introduced its first fully electric truck for daily factory logistics. The vehicle, a MAN eTGX, will transport raw materials between the company’s production sites in Vienna and Wolkersdorf. This move aims to cut emissions and reduce noise along the route. The electric HGV, a MAN eTGX 20.449 4x2, delivers 330 kilowatts (449 horsepower) and features Manner’s signature branding. It will carry essential ingredients like nougat and chocolate compounds between the two facilities. The truck operates mainly on renewable electricity, sourced from green energy suppliers and Manner’s own photovoltaic panels at Wolkersdorf.

Predictable charging cycles and steady demand between the production hubs ensure efficient operation. By eliminating tailpipe CO₂ emissions, the vehicle supports Manner’s sustainability goals. Noise levels along the route are also expected to fall compared to traditional diesel trucks.

Beyond core factory logistics, Manner is testing the truck for broader operational use. The company has already secured funding for a second electric tractor unit. Additionally, a 7.5-tonne electric delivery truck will soon serve Manner’s flagship store on Vienna’s Stephansplatz. The introduction of the electric truck marks a shift toward greener logistics for Manner. With reduced emissions and lower noise pollution, the vehicle aligns with the company’s environmental targets. Further expansions, including additional electric trucks, are already in progress.
