MAN Truck & Bus pumps €300M into Europe's electric service network by 2030

MAN Truck & Bus is set to invest €300 million by 2030 to expand and modernise its European service network. The plan includes upgrading existing locations, adding new service hubs, and preparing for electric mobility across key markets.

The company currently operates around 1,200 service and sales points, employing roughly 7,000 staff. Priority markets for this expansion include Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, the UK, Italy, Spain, Poland, and Turkey, among others.

A major focus of the investment will be improving regional coverage and service quality. By 2026, two-thirds of MAN's locations will support electric mobility, with a third of the €300 million budget dedicated to electromobility and digitalisation.

The company has already established battery repair centres across Europe, with Austria acting as a regional hub for neighbouring countries. Additionally, through a partnership with E.ON, MAN will install public charging points for electric trucks at many service locations.

Germany alone hosts over 340 service points, both company-run and partner-operated. The broader network includes more than 2,000 MAN service points and partners, ensuring widespread support through the Mobile24 breakdown and mobility service.

Friedrich Baumann, Board Member for Sales and Customer Solutions at MAN, highlighted the goal of reducing travel times to service centres. By 2030, nearly 80% of customers should be within a 30-minute drive of the nearest MAN service location. If the current expansion rate continues—around seven new workshops per year—roughly 49 additional sites could open in priority markets by 2030.

The €300 million investment will strengthen MAN's service network, adding new hubs and upgrading existing ones. Electric mobility infrastructure will also expand, with more locations equipped for charging and battery repairs. These changes aim to improve accessibility and service efficiency for customers across Europe by the end of the decade.
