Major power grid upgrade slashes failures and wear by 2025
The Ministry of Energy has announced that in 2025, a major overhaul was completed on 17,000 kilometers of power transmission lines and 420 substations, reducing grid wear to 66%.
"As a result of these measures, power grid failures have decreased by 13%, equivalent to 3,140 fewer technical disruptions," the ministry stated.
This year, another 17,000 kilometers of networks are undergoing major repairs. Additionally, 444 substations, along with 3,400 distribution points and transformer stations, are scheduled for maintenance.
Implementing these planned measures will further reduce the average wear of electrical networks to 65%, improving the reliability of power supply and strengthening the resilience of the country's energy system.
