Magnit overhauls product range with price hikes and new brands

Russian supermarket chain Magnit has updated its product range and adjusted prices on several staples. Some items have disappeared from shelves, while new brands have appeared. Customers will also notice significant price changes on everyday goods. Certain products are no longer available at Magnit. Onions, oranges, and flour are currently out of stock. Meanwhile, the retailer has introduced new items like sugar, salt, Flamenco tomatoes, Heinz ketchup, and toast bread.

Prices for fresh produce have risen sharply. Apples now cost 258 ₽ per kilogram, up from 179 ₽. Potatoes have seen an even steeper increase, jumping from 99 ₽ to 229 ₽ per kilogram. Brest-Litovsk hard cheese is also more expensive, priced at 317 ₽ for 200 grams compared to the previous 299 ₽.

Dairy and pantry staples have seen mixed adjustments. Domerev milk (1.8% fat) now costs 201 ₽ per litre, an increase from 169 ₽. Granmulino pasta is priced at 84 ₽, slightly higher than the previous Makfa brand at 79 ₽. However, Brest-Litovsk butter has dropped to 183 ₽ for 180 grams, down from 289 ₽.

Coffee and tea prices reflect a shift in brands. Nescafé Classic instant coffee now sells for 190 ₽ per 60 grams, while Nescafé Gold costs 351 ₽ for 75 grams, replacing Kofeynya na Payakh, which was previously 899 ₽. Ahmad Tea is now available at 130 ₽, compared to the former Greenfield brand at 169 ₽. The changes at Magnit include both new product offerings and notable price shifts. Some items have become significantly more expensive, while others have seen reductions. Shoppers will need to adjust to the updated selection and pricing when visiting the store.
