LMCT+ found guilty of running 10 illegal lotteries in South Australia
Xclusive Tech Pty Ltd, trading as LMCT+, has been found guilty of running 10 unlawful lotteries in South Australia. The company operated without a proper licence between January 2023 and May 2024. Meanwhile, its sole director, Adrian Portelli—known as 'The Block's Lambo Guy'—was cleared of any wrongdoing in assisting the lotteries. The Adelaide Magistrates Court ruled that LMCT+ conducted lotteries offering cash, cars, and houses without the required authorisation. Despite the verdict, Portelli did not appear in court for the decision. His lawyer argued that the company had tried to obtain the correct licence but failed, claiming they were misled by officials.
Portelli maintained that LMCT+ complied with regulations in every state and territory except South Australia. The company's defence also criticised prosecutors, accusing them of undermining the 'life-changing impacts' these lotteries had on winners. With over 300,000 subscribers, LMCT+ has built a large following through its high-value prize draws. Sentencing submissions for Xclusive Tech Pty Ltd are scheduled for later the same day. The court will determine the penalties for the unlicensed lotteries, which ran for over a year.
The guilty verdict means LMCT+ faces legal consequences for operating without a licence. The case highlights the risks of running lotteries without proper approval, even when prizes include major assets. Sentencing will clarify the financial or operational impact on the company moving forward.
