Lexus TZ Debuts as a Three-Row Electric SUV with Lounge-Like Comfort
Lexus has unveiled its first three-row battery electric SUV, the all-new TZ. The vehicle is designed as a mobile living space, blending smooth electric driving with a spacious, refined cabin for all passengers.
The TZ arrives as part of Lexus’ push into fully electric vehicles, built on a dedicated BEV platform. It will launch in New Zealand in early 2027, with full specifications to be announced closer to release. The TZ is engineered around a 'Driving Lounge' concept, prioritising comfort across all three rows. Lexus has used advanced hardware and software to enhance second- and third-row seating, ensuring a quieter, more relaxed experience. Sustainable materials, such as forged bamboo and recycled aluminium, feature throughout the interior.
The SUV’s low centre of gravity and wide panoramic roof contribute to its stability and open feel. Lexus’ Aji-migaki refinement programme has fine-tuned the TZ for composed handling, minimal noise, and strong aerodynamic performance. Andrew Davis, Vice President of Lexus New Zealand, tested the vehicle and noted its smoothness, refinement, and stability on the road.
Lexus positions the TZ as ideal for long-distance travel, with lounge-like comfort in every seat. The cabin’s design focuses on reducing fatigue, making journeys feel more effortless for both driver and passengers. The Lexus TZ will enter the New Zealand market in early 2027. Its combination of electric performance, premium comfort, and sustainable materials marks a new direction for the brand. Further details on specifications and pricing will be released ahead of the launch.
