L&T secures major contracts for industrial and glass production plants in India
Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured fresh contracts across India, reinforcing its position in infrastructure and industrial development. The company's Buildings & Factories segment continues to attract major orders, with projects ranging from advanced manufacturing plants to specialised glass production facilities.
Recent wins include a high-value deal with a leading two-wheeler manufacturer in Andhra Pradesh and a float glass plant in Gujarat, both reflecting L&T's expertise in end-to-end execution. The latest orders highlight L&T's expanding footprint in key sectors. In Andhra Pradesh, the firm will construct a cutting-edge facility for a top two-wheeler brand, though the exact value remains undisclosed. Meanwhile, in Gujarat, the company has been tasked with building a float glass plant, covering full project execution from design to commissioning.
These contracts follow a pattern of repeat business, with L&T receiving multiple add-on orders for existing projects. The Buildings & Factories vertical, known for its work in manufacturing, healthcare, airports, data centres, and energy, typically secures deals worth between ₹1,000 crore and ₹2,500 crore. The segment's growth aligns with L&T's broader strategy to strengthen its core Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) operations.
Despite geopolitical challenges in West Asia, L&T reported on 21 March 2026 that 95% of its 100-plus project sites there remain active. This resilience underscores the company's ability to maintain operations even in volatile regions. However, no major new international wins in matching sectors like power or construction have been announced in the past two years.
A USD 30 billion multinational, L&T emphasises quality and customer-focused delivery across its global projects. The latest contracts further cement its role in India's infrastructure expansion, particularly in industrial and specialised manufacturing facilities. The new orders will bolster L&T's presence in India's industrial and infrastructure sectors. With ongoing projects in West Asia and a steady flow of domestic contracts, the company's Buildings & Factories segment is set to sustain its growth trajectory. The focus remains on delivering high-value projects while maintaining operational stability across regions.
