Krasnodar's road and utility crews have launched a large-scale operation to combat icy conditions across the city. Teams are working around the clock to clear roads, pavements, and public transport stops as temperatures drop.

Over 540 workers have been sent out to tackle ice on sidewalks, bus stops, pedestrian crossings, and residential courtyards. They are also focusing on areas near hospitals, schools, and other key facilities. Steps at 160 transport stops are being cleared to prevent accidents.

The city has mobilised 25 specialised vehicles to spread a sand-salt mix across more than 190 kilometres of roads. De-icing materials have already been applied to 320 streets and 27 pedestrian crossings. Overnight, crews will continue treating pedestrian zones to keep them safe. An additional 30 combined machines will restart operations on the night of January 27. These will clear and treat roads in different districts, ensuring wider coverage as freezing conditions persist.

The ongoing work aims to reduce hazards for drivers and pedestrians during the cold snap. Road maintenance and utility teams will maintain their efforts until conditions improve. No major disruptions to public services have been reported so far.
