Kazakhstan's Industry Minister tours East Kazakhstan's key plants and construction boom

Yersain Nagaspayev, the Minister of Industry and Construction, recently completed a working trip to East Kazakhstan Region. His visit included inspections of major industrial sites and a review of ongoing construction projects in Ust-Kamenogorsk. Nagaspayev began his trip at the Ulbinsky Metallurgical Plant, where he examined operations and future plans for producing uranium dioxide fuel pellets, beryllium, tantalum, and niobium. Later, he met with local business leaders to discuss government support measures aimed at increasing production, boosting localisation, and expanding export opportunities.

At the Ust-Kamenogorsk Valve Plant, the minister reviewed modernisation efforts and explored ways to improve sales performance. Another key stop was the Ust-Kamenogorsk Titanium-Magnesium Plant, a global leader in titanium production, where he assessed current operations. During his visit to KazZinc, Nagaspayev stressed the need for modernising production and maintaining safe working conditions. The company’s management updated him on ongoing projects, including the Altyntau-Kokshetau initiative and plans for the Obruchevskoye and Novo-Lenogorskoye deposits. Beyond industrial sites, Nagaspayev inspected Ust-Kamenogorsk’s left-bank district. Around 80 apartment buildings are under construction there, alongside new social infrastructure such as schools, kindergartens, medical centres, a Palace of Schoolchildren, and sports facilities. He issued instructions to ensure these projects are completed on time and to a high standard.

The minister’s directives focused on accelerating industrial upgrades and construction timelines. His visit highlighted both the region’s economic potential and the government’s push for infrastructure and production growth.
