Kazakhstan's Bold Move to Lure Global Talent and Investors
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture and Information Aida Balayeva has announced new migration policies, our website reports.
Starting April 10, 2026, new measures regulating the admission of foreigners for permanent residency have come into force.
The reforms aim to enhance the quality of human capital and attract in-demand professionals. Kazakhstan will maintain simplified entry procedures for investors and specialists in high-priority fields.
Investors will continue to benefit from dedicated visa categories for executives and participants in investment projects, as well as their family members. These measures enable investors to enter the country's economy more easily, develop businesses, and create new jobs, Balayeva said.
She noted that special visas—including those granting permanent residency—are also available to foreign nationals with sought-after expertise. The list includes neurosurgeons, hematologists, pharmaceutical engineers, bacteriologists, graphic animators, and other professionals. A total of 51 occupations are currently included, with the roster updated regularly based on the country's economic needs.
Additionally, new visa formats for highly skilled specialists and digital nomads are being introduced, allowing Kazakhstan to attract global talent and cutting-edge technologies.
The implementation of these policies is expected to boost investment, advance technological development, and address labor shortages in the economy. Foreign nationals may also enter Kazakhstan through a streamlined process based on a substantiated request from the relevant government authority, the deputy prime minister added.
