Kazakhstan Debuts AI-Powered Virtual Assistant for Statistical Data Access
Kazakhstan’s Bureau of National Statistics (Qazstat) has launched AI Stat, a new virtual assistant powered by artificial intelligence. The tool aims to simplify access to statistical data and reduce the complexity of navigating government services. Officials describe it as a major step in the country’s push for digitalisation and AI integration. AI Stat was first tested in April 2026 before being refined based on user feedback. The service operates in a conversational format, guiding users step by step while minimising errors. It can generate a list of mandatory statistical forms using a business identification number (BIN) or an individual identification number (IIN).
The assistant also helps select OKED activity codes and directs users to a call centre if further support is needed. According to Maksat Turlybbaev, head of Qazstat, AI Stat provides quick statistical answers in just a few clicks, removing the need to navigate complicated service structures. Currently available in two languages, an English version is planned for future release. The system combines consultation, data navigation, and reporting support in one interface. Its development aligns with Kazakhstan’s broader strategy to integrate AI into public services and improve efficiency for businesses and individuals.
AI Stat is now operational, offering a faster and more user-friendly way to access statistical information. The tool reduces administrative burdens by automating key processes and directing users to the right resources. Its launch reflects Kazakhstan’s ongoing efforts to modernise government services through digital innovation.
