K92 Mining Inc. has added a seasoned industry expert to its leadership team. On 29 May 2026, the company elected Michael Carew to its Board of Directors. His appointment comes as K92 continues expanding its operations at the Kainantu Gold Mine in Papua New Guinea.

Carew brings over 25 years of mining experience to K92. His career includes roles with major firms such as BHP Billiton, Mount Isa Mines, and Ivanhoe Mines. He has worked across Australia, North America, and Asia on various mineral projects.

Before joining K92, he served as Vice President of Corporate Development for Great Pacific Gold Corp. from November 2024 to May 2026. Earlier, he spent seven years as a Mining Research Analyst at Haywood Securities Inc. His academic background includes a BSc (Hons) from Monash University and a PhD in Economic Geology from James Cook University. Currently, Carew also holds positions as Director and Audit Committee member of Military Metals Corp. and CEO of Walhalla Gold Corp. K92’s Chief Executive Officer, John Lewins, highlighted Carew’s deep industry knowledge as a key asset. The company aims to leverage his expertise as it pushes forward with its growth plans. K92 has been producing gold, copper, and silver at the Kainantu Mine since declaring commercial production in February 2018.

Carew’s election strengthens K92’s board with decades of technical and strategic experience. His role will support the company’s ongoing development at its Papua New Guinea operations. The move reflects K92’s focus on expanding production while maintaining strong governance.
