IONOS Launches AI-Powered Momentum to Fuel SME Digital Growth

IONOS has unveiled a major AI push called Momentum, designed to sharpen its focus on digital solutions for businesses. The company also announced a new €60 million share buyback programme, which sent its stock price up by nearly 1.8%. Both moves aim to strengthen growth and investor confidence in the coming years. The Momentum initiative centres on AI tools for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). It includes an AI phone assistant, an AI-driven customer relationship management (CRM) system, and automated content creation software. These tools are meant to increase revenue per user by helping businesses streamline operations.

Since rolling out the Momentum ecosystem, IONOS has seen steady growth. Customer numbers climbed by 310,000 in 2025, reaching 6.63 million. Revenue rose by 5.5% to €1.317 billion, while EBITDA jumped 18.5% to €485.2 million. The company now positions itself as a one-stop shop for digitalisation, offering integrated, GDPR-compliant AI solutions that support cloud migration and automation.

For 2026, IONOS targets 7% revenue growth and an EBITDA margin of 37–38%. Over the medium term, it aims for annual revenue increases of 10% and an EBITDA margin of 40%. The strategy focuses on scalability, AI accessibility, and expanding its customer base through upselling and cross-selling.

The new share buyback programme will start in the coming days and run until August 25, 2026. It allows IONOS to repurchase up to 2.2 million of its own shares—about 1.6% of its share capital. The programme also covers obligations from employee stock ownership plans. IONOS's AI-driven approach and financial moves signal a push for stronger market positioning. The company expects its Momentum tools to drive further customer growth and efficiency. With clear revenue and margin targets, it aims to solidify its role as a leading digital service provider for SMEs.
