ILA Berlin 2025 Spotlights Braunschweig's Research Airport as an Innovation Powerhouse

The International Aerospace Exhibition (ILA) will open in Berlin from June 10 to 14, focusing on aviation, space, and defence. Over 750 exhibitors are expected at the Berlin ExpoCenter Airport (BER). Among them, Braunschweig will present its Research Airport as a key hub for mobility and energy innovation. The Research Airport in northern Braunschweig is one of Europe’s top centres for mobility and energy research. It hosts over 40 institutes and companies, employing more than 3,700 specialists in interdisciplinary projects. Major organisations like the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and the Federal Aviation Office (Luftfahrt-Bundesamt) operate there.

At ILA, Braunschweig Zukunft GmbH, Technical University of Braunschweig, Aerodata AG, and INVENT GmbH will showcase the Research Airport cluster. Their exhibition will be part of the Lower Saxony Aviation area at Chalets East, stands 22–24. On June 10, Marianne Kovar-Lopez of Braunschweig Zukunft GmbH will lead a workshop. She will discuss how the Research Airport serves as an innovation testbed for cutting-edge projects.

The ILA event will highlight Braunschweig’s role in aerospace research. The Research Airport’s presence at the exhibition aims to strengthen collaboration between industry and academia. Visitors can explore its contributions at the Lower Saxony Aviation area.
