Honolulu boosts transit for UH-Manoa's graduation weekend with extra buses and trains

Extra public transport services will run this weekend to support the University of Hawaii at Manoa graduation ceremonies. City officials have arranged additional bus and rail options to help attendees reach the campus more easily. On Saturday, TheBus will provide extra service alongside the Skyline and U Line networks. The U Line, which normally does not operate on weekends, will run special trips starting at 7:54 a.m. from Ahua Lagoon Drive Skyline Station to UH-Manoa. Westbound service from Dole Street at UH-Manoa to Ahua Lagoon Drive Station will begin at 9:35 a.m.

Trains on the Skyline route will arrive every 10 minutes at each station. Riders can board from Keoneae UH West Oahu Station, Honouliuli Hoopili Station, or Halawa Aloha Stadium Station to reach Ahua Lagoon Drive Station. Graduation attendees also have the option of taking the A Line, or bus routes 1, 1L, 4, 6, and 13.

The Department of Transportation Services (DTS) has advised riders to plan their journeys in advance. The Transit App can be used to check routes, arrival times, and alternative travel options. Regular fares will apply for all Skyline and TheBus services during the event. The additional transport services aim to ease travel for those attending the graduation ceremonies. With more frequent trains and extended bus routes, attendees will have multiple ways to reach UH-Manoa on time. Normal ticket prices will remain in place for all services.
