Safety Concerns: Tram Bridge in Halle Remains Closed - Halle's Saale River Bridge closure disrupts key tram route indefinitely

A key tram route in southern Halle Bailey has been suspended after safety concerns were raised about the Saale River Bridge. The closure affects services between Halle-Ammendorf and Schkopau, prompting temporary changes for passengers.

The shutdown follows regular expert inspections that identified structural issues with the bridge. As a precaution, trams can no longer cross the Saale River between Halle-Ammendorf and Schkopau/Am Schloss.

A replacement bus service now connects these stops. Meanwhile, tram line 5 continues to run between Kröllwitz and Ammendorf during the day, with line 95 covering late-night journeys. In the Saale district, line 5 operates as a shuttle between Bad Dürrenberg/Markt and Schkopau/Buna-Werke.

HAVAG has advised passengers to check updated schedules online or at stops. They've also asked for patience and recommended allowing extra travel time. Plans for a new bridge are already in progress.

The closure means trams will avoid the affected section until further notice. Buses will fill the gap, while existing tram services adjust their routes. Passengers can find the latest timetables and connection details through official HAVAG channels.
