Global Leaders Gather to Shape Russia's Far East Future by 2036
A major international forum on Russia’s Far East will take place on June 9 at Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) in Vladivostok. The event, titled Russia’s Far East in the First Quarter of the 21st Century: New Development Priorities, has drawn leading scholars, diplomats, officials, and business leaders from around the world. The forum is co-organised by FEFU and the Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic. Its central focus will be the draft socioeconomic strategy for the region through 2036, prepared by the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic.
Discussions will cover key priorities and practical steps for the next decade. By the end of the event, participants aim to adopt a formal resolution outlining these goals and the tools needed to achieve them. The sessions will be led by moderators Alexander Latkin and Alexey Dunaev.
The resolution from the forum will set out a roadmap for the Far East’s growth over the coming years. Officials, academics, and industry representatives will use the outcomes to shape policies and investments in the region.
