Gas company exposed for billing customers for fake maintenance checks

RTSKU-Taldykorgan LLP has been found to have charged customers for gas maintenance that was never carried out. The company also altered records to hide the undeclared services. An investigation revealed that the firm systematically billed residents for unperformed in-home gas equipment checks. To cover up the fraud, staff falsified internal documents and produced fake completion certificates.

The scheme affected around 6,000 customers, whose bills for the unrendered services were later cancelled. Those involved in the misconduct faced disciplinary measures from the company. The cancelled charges have lifted the financial burden for the affected customers. The disciplinary actions signal the company’s attempt to address the wrongdoing. No further penalties have been announced.
