Major Changes to Bus Services: Construction Work Disrupts Routes in Western Freiburg

Due to roadworks, passengers in western Freiburg will face disruptions and diversions starting Monday, May 4, 2026, through an estimated Sunday, June 14, 2026. The bus turning loop at Paduaallee will be closed during this period, Freiburg's public transport operator VAG announced.

Several routes serving the city's western districts will be affected, including bus lines 10, 19, 24, and 32, as well as line 700. Passengers should expect altered stops and detours on some services.

For buses heading south—such as those toward Lehen or Mundenhof—departures will temporarily shift to the outer platform at Paduaallee. Northbound services, including those to Bissierstraße or Gundelfingen, will instead depart from a temporary stop on Sundgauallee.

Some lines will also see certain stops suspended entirely. For example, line 19 will skip multiple stops, while line 32 will operate on a modified route in sections.

Schedules will also be adjusted, with VAG warning of potential delays—particularly on line 700—due to the construction. The work focuses on the access road to the turning loop, causing widespread impacts on bus operations in the area.
